5 Deposit & Withdrawal Mistakes to Avoid on Padre

When money seems to "disappear" on a trading terminal, the cause is almost always one of a handful of simple mistakes rather than a bug. Here are the five we see most often with Padre Terminal, and how to avoid each one.

Mistake 1: Sending on the wrong network

Padre supports several chains (Solana, Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain), and each has its own deposit address. When you press Deposit, make sure the address you copy matches the network you are sending on. Sending SOL to an Ethereum address, or picking the wrong network on an exchange withdrawal screen, is the most expensive mistake on this list because the funds may not be recoverable.

Habit to build: send a small test amount first, wait for it to arrive, then send the rest.

Mistake 2: Leaving nothing for fees

Every buy, sell and withdrawal needs a little of the chain's native coin (SOL, ETH or BNB) to pay network and priority fees. If you deposit exactly the amount you want to trade, your trade or later withdrawal can fail. Keep a small buffer on each chain you use: on Solana a small amount usually covers many transactions; on Ethereum leave noticeably more.

Mistake 3: Looking at the wrong wallet or chain

The terminal can hold more than one wallet and more than one chain. If a balance looks empty, check the wallet selector at the top of the screen and the wallet shown in the order panel before assuming anything is wrong. Very often the funds are simply in a different wallet or on a different chain from the one on screen.

Mistake 4: Withdrawing to an address you did not double-check

Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed. Before withdrawing:

  • Paste the address, then compare the first and last few characters with the original.
  • Make sure the destination supports the network you are withdrawing on.
  • Be wary of clipboard malware that swaps copied addresses.
  • Check for any minimum withdrawal amount shown in the terminal; very small balances may not go through.

Mistake 5: Panicking over a slow transaction

A transaction that takes longer than usual is normally a network issue, such as congestion or a priority fee that was set too low, not a problem with Padre. Copy the transaction ID and look it up on a block explorer for that chain (for example Solscan for Solana). You will see whether it is pending, confirmed or failed.

Before contacting support

  1. Confirm which wallet and chain you are looking at.
  2. Check you sent on the correct network.
  3. Make sure there is enough native coin left for fees.
  4. Look up the transaction ID on a block explorer.
  5. Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone offering "support", especially in DMs.
